RIOT NY has a webcam that overlooks Fifth Avenue. Building on the work of Andy Siegel, I developed a set of Unix shell scripts which retrieve an image from the webcam every 20 seconds and compress those images into a daily MPEG time-lapse movie. The sample shown here is from the day of the 2007 St. Patrick's Day parade.

I also adapted the scripts to run a number of internal wireless security cameras.
